Appearance: Slime body with strong arms with white hair with one yellow eye and one synthetic teal eye

Why were they Chosen for Project Freelancer: Spartan III Subject: 016 Dante.

Subject: 016's recording began when he was picked to join Spartan III's Beta company. Like other subjects he was fast, strong, quick thinking, and very resourceful. However there was something more to 016 then meets the eye, and this was proven correct after another DNA check on 016 the results showed something very interesting. Tests showed that 016 had very similar genetic coding to Spartan II Subject: 117. After learning of this, and how wasteful it would be to make 016 into a simple Spartan III, some steps were taken.

After main training was complete for the Spartan III, 016 was Taken by O.N.I. officers from Onyx and taken abroad U.N.S.C.[Classified] for a new Spartan test program Code-Name: Spartan-Beta. After improved training for Subject: 016 the augmentation process began, which turned out far more superior Spartans to Spartan II's, with the addition of more, newer augmentations, many scientists believed that it was too much; that 016 may never have survived; but it turns out we were very wrong.

Subject: 016, for lack of a better word, blew everyone's minds; he was faster, stronger, and, I damn near say it, is far superior to many Spartan II's. 016 has taken a liking to many weapons but he seems to prefer the standard BR85 Heavy Barrel Service Rifle/M395 Designated Marksman Rifle and twin M6 Magnum that have been heavily customized. 016 sometimes likes to have a customized katana but works well with many other weapons.

Subject: 016's armor is a work of wonders; the majority of it being the new standard Mark VI, however a few changes have been added to it, the armor has specially designed nano-weave that can use the armor's power systems to increase 016's strength, speed, and best of all has a perfect active camo unit. However, this can damage the systems for a short time before rebooting. For example: firing a gun in cloak or an E.M.P. A power shield unit has been integrated into the armor which can provide minimal protection. And as requested by 016 himself large blades have been built into the armor's gauntlets, for something up-close.

Bad luck seems to have finally found 016; a new smart Artificial Intelligence program was created to become Subject: 016's partner, but something went horribly wrong, the A.I. had a breakdown while still in 016's head and made him go insane. He has been taken to [Classified] for help.

After the A.I. malfunction Subject 016 was marked for execution. Despite this he seems mentally stable now, and luck seemed to have found 016 once again: another program Code-Named: Project Freelancer wanted Subject: 016 to join them. It is still unclear how they knew about 016, but as O.N.I. had no more use for him and everything would have gone to waste if he was killed, they took him.

Personality: Physically Agent California is ready and waiting for the next mission, but mentally is another issue after a lot of events that have happened to California like he lost his only mother in the covenant war, and losing all 297 of his Spartan brothers and sisters, and then later having a failed A.I. Implantation that made California go insane and then stationed on the UNSC Monalisa were he encountered the alien parasite called the flood which was able to half infect California before he was able to get to the cyro-pod bay and survive the destruction of the Monalisa were he was then recovered and given further medical treatment and then they found out that because he was half infected his body can regenerate after being injured because of his DNA and the Flood DNA combining together making a new set of DNA also making his faster and stronger then before but when the body is pushed to far for a Spartan to handle the Flood DNA will fours his body to mutate into a powerful Flood Combat Form which is driven by rage and the last thing that California was thinking before the mutation. California mostly likes to keep to himself and only talk to Nyx his A.I. But has good Respect to other freelancers unless they make jokes about him and his past were he would more then likely hurt them or even kill them but the UNSC still has there uses for him even more so with his new found Flood DNA, I just hope Cali will find some peace soon.

Armour: Customized Prototype Makr VI

AI: Nyx is an A.I. that was created by Project Freelancer for Subject Dante 016: Agent California. Nyx was made from the cloned brain of Agent California, which was a dangerous thing to have done, and was risky, as many were not sure how the A.I. would turn out, the reason being she is based on California, whose mind and mental status is still questionable, but after work began it was hard to stop. Soon after, a new A.I. was born. She prefers the look of a young girl, approx. 16/17 and appears like a cartoon figure. There are two interesting quirks to her appearance. One is that she has a set of wings similar to a Pegasus's. The other unique feature she has are a pair of teal eyes, with slits like a snake's or dragon's, which look as if she is staring into your soul. Even though she knows she is based on California's damaged mind, she seem fine with it. She acts like a young child, but is very kind and understanding. Even if you make fun of her she will take it well, but don't say the same for California.

She later named herself Nyx, and was very excited to be implanted in California, but before that she had to be tested on another Agent; this did not go well; the Agent's mind fried and was almost killed, but Nyx was removed. It seems that California is the only one who can use Nyx.

California and Nyx have a very interesting relationship for a human and A.I. California thinks of Nyx as a daughter whereas Nyx thinks of California as a father. She even has moments where she calls California "Dad" or "Daddy." It is believed an event happened that no one thought of during Nyx's creation. A later test was made to see how strong their relationship was, which involved medical personnel trying to remove Nyx from California. This was met with startling results; he almost killed all of the medical team. At the same time Nyx was screaming like she had gone insane, but this was not surprising as Nyx always tries to help California that way. California has a fully powered combat drone built with Forerunner tech in his armor, and can be deployed at any time. Nyx then takes control of it and uses it to assist California in combat. A side note regarding the California-Nyx Bond: California's synthetic eye used to be yellow, and matched his real eye. But after Nyx was implanted, his eye changed to the color of Nyx's eyes. Perhaps this is a sign showing the bond these two share. More research need to be done on the matter.
